The Last Stand is a narrative-driven, 1v1 tactical survival card game set within the world of The Last of Us. Focusing on strategic resource management, the game utilizes a Character and Support cycle, allowing players to directly influence or counter their opponent's moves in real-time.
Designed for accessibility with a mouse-only interface, the project explores The Last of Us through three distinct gameplay modes: a curated narrative campaign, an endless survival gauntlet, and a faction-based deck-building mode.
Story
A linear narrative campaign following June Ravel. Set three years
before the events of The Last of Us Part II, this is a spoiler-free
expansion of the universe with pre-designed encounters that weave
systemic card combat with character-driven storytelling.
Holdout
A survival gauntlet where players face escalating waves of enemies.
This mode introduces unpredictable modifiers and randomized opponents,
challenging players to manage their health and resources against a
mounting, near-endless threat.
Remnants
A tactical deck-building campaign that focuses on long-term strategy.
Players choose a faction and slowly build their deck's power, gaining
territories and resources while navigating the variance in faction
power due to the outbreak.
